Poem Inspiration:

The poem is centered on a friend of mine, who was caught between different thoughts. He couldn't decide whether he wanted to be with his girlfriend because she has given him everything he needed, but still ultimately is the one leading him to his demise. She left him, and he realized that he now has more freedom, more opportunities to express himself, he was more than he was with her. And he saw the beauty in himself.

How long have they been writing poems:

I've been writing poems ever since high school. It started out as just a hobby to arrange my thoughts and help me remember things. Because with poetry, the message that you wish to convey gets amplified more. That's when I saw the beauty in the art.

How they discovered their passion for poetry and word art:

Funnily enough, I discovered I have a passion for word art once I started listening to Marshall Mathers and later Nathan Feuerstein. These two are globally recognized music artists who are amazing at word play. I too got hooked on that. But it was only afterwards where I used poetry as a hobby that I saw the beauty and depths it could go.

1. "The Spoken Words Contest Contest" is a Competition fully sponsored by The Next Star Talent Hunt, a product of Balloon Technologies SA LTD. An Organization acting in compliance with International laws and the Laws of the Republic of South Africa.

2. It is an Online Talent Competition, which finds its operandi similar to other talent competitions like the America Got Talent show, The Big Brother Africa, MTN Project fame among others.

3. Registration to Participate in "The Spoken Words Contest" is Completely FREE. Note this.

4. Like in every other Contest, "The Spoken Words Contest" enshrines prizes for Its Winners.

1st Position: A Golden Luxe Plaque and a Monetary award of R20,000 (Twenty Thousand Rand only)

2nd Position: A Monetary award of R4,000 (Four Thousand Rand only)

3rd position: A Monetary award of R2,000 (Two Thousand Rand only)

5. Winners of "The Spoken Words Contest" are selected by a Simple-Majority Voting system.

6. The Voting system entails a transparent form of anyone visiting a contestant voting link and then voting for them. 1 vote is R7 (Seven Rands only). And anyone can vote for a contestant as much times as possible.

7. Payment made as Vote on any Contestant (while in contest and afterwards) would not be refunded.

8. In the Policy of enjoining Transparency, Live updates on scores of each Contestant, are made Public and available on the Contest’s website via https://sageatwords.co.za/contest - coupled with personalized mails and text messages forwarded to each contestant daily.

9. As by Law, Participation in "The Spoken Words Contest" is completely Voluntary and Contestant can discontinue at anytime, with the Caveat of Votes counted, being lost and not refunded.

10. "The Spoken Words Contest" acts in Good faith in Accordance with International Laws and the Laws of the Republic of South Africa.
