Poem Inspiration:

A traumatic event that I’ve tried so hard to forget , so many times. A memory I wish could be erased , forcing its way into remembrance by spilling onto my page , ink and tears colliding , giving birth to what you heard.

When - probably when I was 8 or 9. I was a socially awkward little girl with not very many people to speak to. Dealing with things I knew hurt but couldn’t fully comprehend. I just knew it needed to come out , and so writing became my escape. How - Writing gave me voice , comfort and release. Writing was a rebellion against the loneliness and forced silence of neglect. It was mine , it couldn’t be taken away , it couldn’t be denied , it was real , even if it didn’t see the light of day. It was all I had

1. "The Spoken Words Contest Contest" is a Competition fully sponsored by The Next Star Talent Hunt, a product of Balloon Technologies SA LTD. An Organization acting in compliance with International laws and the Laws of the Republic of South Africa.

2. It is an Online Talent Competition, which finds its operandi similar to other talent competitions like the America Got Talent show, The Big Brother Africa, MTN Project fame among others.

3. Registration to Participate in "The Spoken Words Contest" is Completely FREE. Note this.

4. Like in every other Contest, "The Spoken Words Contest" enshrines prizes for Its Winners.

1st Position: A Golden Luxe Plaque and a Monetary award of R20,000 (Twenty Thousand Rand only)

2nd Position: A Monetary award of R4,000 (Four Thousand Rand only)

3rd position: A Monetary award of R2,000 (Two Thousand Rand only)

5. Winners of "The Spoken Words Contest" are selected by a Simple-Majority Voting system.

6. The Voting system entails a transparent form of anyone visiting a contestant voting link and then voting for them. 1 vote is R7 (Seven Rands only). And anyone can vote for a contestant as much times as possible.

7. Payment made as Vote on any Contestant (while in contest and afterwards) would not be refunded.

8. In the Policy of enjoining Transparency, Live updates on scores of each Contestant, are made Public and available on the Contest’s website via https://sageatwords.co.za/contest - coupled with personalized mails and text messages forwarded to each contestant daily.

9. As by Law, Participation in "The Spoken Words Contest" is completely Voluntary and Contestant can discontinue at anytime, with the Caveat of Votes counted, being lost and not refunded.

10. "The Spoken Words Contest" acts in Good faith in Accordance with International Laws and the Laws of the Republic of South Africa.
